What it is

Dry needling uses very thin, single-use needles placed into specific points in a muscle. It’s different from acupuncture: the focus is on muscle tension and pain linked to your movement problem.

It’s offered by clinicians with additional dry-needling training, only after your evaluation and with your consent. Scope-of-practice rules vary by state, so confirm your local regulations.

Benefits

✓ Can reduce muscle tension and tenderness

✓ Often helps you get more out of the exercise that follows

✓ Quick to add to an existing visit
